The Kwanzaa celebration will include music, dance,
storytelling and a community pot-luck feast. Families
are asked to bring a covered dish.
Visit the Yellow Springs library starting December 1 to
see the Kwanzaa display for ideal about the feast.
Kwanzaa, the community celebration based on the concept
of the harvest festival traditionally practiced
throughout Africa, is celebrated during the seven-day
period from December 26th — January 1st.
“The principles of Kwanzaa are consistent with the
principles of AACW,” says Faith Patterson, president of
AACW. We hope every member of the community comes out to
celebrate the fruits of our collective labor, and to
give thanks and acknowledge the achievements and
contributions to the well-being of our families and
communities.”
Admission is a can or box of non-perishable food to be
donated to the food bank. For additional information
please contact AACW at 767-9114
